Christmas Part Deux

So, like anyone who truly loves the holidays, I didn't want to limit myself to just ONE blog about Christmas. Particularly since Christmas doesn't last for just ONE day in our family. If you want to be a part of our family, you had better be prepared to celebrate Christmas at least four times, and maybe more depending on how festive everyone is feeling. Which is kind of fun, because really if one Christmas is good, isn't four better?

This year we did something a little different. We went to spend the night after Christmas (and the night after that) with Woo and Grandad. Usually, we make the drive out to their house a couple of times when we have family in town, but, this year we took the plunge and spent the entire weekend there.
Woo did something that I might almost consider to be unspeakable. She put her Christmas tree up, and the left it.............undecorated! I don't know how she can even bear to walk into her living room during the month of December. But she does. She leaves it undecorated so that some of her 13 (I accidentally just typed 132--I hope that is a Freudian slip) grandchildren can decorate it for her. Which you understand means that the bottom 1/3 of the tree has ALL the ornaments. And she leaves them there. She makes no attempt to remedy this. I think she likes it. Or possibly she really loves her grandchildren.

And this year, the older kids put on a Christmas Pageant. And yes, some of the wise men wore gold lame. And I think one carried a gun....I'm just sayin'.

And then we put everyone in their Christmas jammies before we sent them off to bed. (Daryn looked at this picture and just said "Wow. That's a lot of red.")

The next day, after the 18 wheeler rolled all the gifts in (just kidding, almost), there was a serious game of sharks and minnows. And yes, Jeff really played a full-on running game while carrying his small child (but not his smallest child, so that's something).

And there were lots of sweet smiles, and cute babies. And there was lots of food (that may be a running theme in my life). And there were lots of hugs and lots of gifts and lots of toys. And lots of children. And lots of love. There was a lot of love.
